Christine delivered my firstborn three years ago, and I came back and traveled 5 000 miles to have another unforgettable experience! This year my second baby was born with the help and support of Christine and her apprentices.

I strongly believe that the way we arrive into existence affects our personality and how zen, trustful and open to the world we are. Well, Christine is there for you to make that transition as smooth as possible for your kid, and for the mom - to make the experience as comfortable as it can be.

She is professional, knowledgable and goes extra hundred miles to help you with anything you need during the pregnancy, to answer any question, to relieve any fear. She creates a bond that's strong and profound, yet gives you all the space you need. Gently and firmly she guides you through the labor and shares both your pain (she literally let me push against her shoulders with my first baby, and I bet her muscles were sore for a while after that) and your joy.

But the most important factors for me were her kindness, open-mindness, and emotional nurturing, the raw and pure energy that comes from her and covers and protects you like a fluffy cloud. You can just feel she loves what she does and she is good at it. I don't plan on having more children, but if I happen to change my mind, I will definitely ask Christine to help me make the miracle unroll again.

Deciding to have a homebirth when I became pregnant with my third baby, was the best decision I made for myself and my baby.  From the moment I met Christine and Betsy, I knew that my baby was in great hands.  Christine is so knowledgeable about birth in general, as well problems and emergencies that may arise during pregnancy or birth.  I felt completely confident that if any problems arose during my birth or pregnancy, Christine had the knowledge and experience to handle the situation and help me make the best decision for my baby.

My prenatal care was relaxed and informative.  Christine and Betsy did all the necessary medical procedures (vitals, urine testing, measurements, etc.) but in an atmosphere where I felt comfortable, safe, and like an actual human being, not just another number or patient.

My labor and birth were so seamless, I couldn’t have hoped for a better experience.  I gave birth in the birthing pool and Christine and Betsy were right there with me to help me deliver my baby to a calm and safe environment.  One of the things I noticed is that Christine and Betsy responded to my cues during labor and delivery.  They were involved based on my needs and what I wanted.  When I needed to labor on my own I was left alone.  When I needed more support, both Betsy and Christine were there to support me.  They respected me as a laboring woman and that was very empowering.  My baby’s birth was powerful and emotional, but most of all it was peaceful.  My baby was a very healthy 8 lbs. 10 oz. and while a tore and needed stitches with both of my previous labors, I didn’t tear at all with this birth.

The aftermath of my baby being born was the biggest contrast from my experiences of having babies in the hospital.  There was no running around or a frantic atmosphere.    My baby and I were treated with so much respect and care.  All of the vital and medical information that was needed was taken, but in a way that I barely even noticed it was being done.  And everything was done with my permission.  Christine and Betsy were so loving and gentle with my baby and me.

My recovery from this birth was the easiest and fastest that I’ve ever experienced.  And my baby is the calmest and most content baby I’ve ever had.  I can’t help but wonder if the calm environment he was born into has something to do with that.  I am so happy that I chose Morning Glory Childbirth for my birth!

Christine Wieberdink works very well under pressure.  If her expertise were called upon to keep a mother and baby safe, Christine would stay calm and handle any emergency situation with care and precision.  She is a very competent and professional midwife.  My second natural birth was at home with Christine.  When we discovered shoulder dystocia, she helped me push out the baby by directing me into the Gaskin Maneuver, or "all-fours position," on my hands and knees.  When the cord was wrapped around my son's shoulder like a seat belt holding him in, she unhooked it successfully so he could be released and born, with his cord intact.  She resuscitated our baby's breath and saved his life before the ambulance arrived, and for that, I will always be grateful for Christine, and her years of midwifery experience.

The prenatal care I received with Christine and Betsy was top-notch.  They were extremely knowledgeable, kind and respectful; made my husband 100% part of the process; and took time addressing any questions or concerns we had during appointments - even responding after hours.  My labor and delivery experience was amazing!  During labor, Christine and Betsy were present to check on me and see if I needed anything (food, drinks, bathroom, pain management help and suggestions), but really stayed in the background and let my husband be my main support, which is what we wanted.  A few hours after our son was born, we had to transfer to the hospital (nothing related to delivery or prenatal care).  Christine accompanied us to the hospital, helped us check in and speak with the doctors, making sure we were completely okay before leaving, and then checked in with us frequently the two days we were there.

I think one of my favorite things about my homebirth experience were the conversations with Christine and Betsy during labor, and after my son was born but before we transferred to the hospital - they were knowledgeable and honest, yet kind and loving, even when there was a tough call to make; they guided my husband and I in making informed decisions, but didn't ever treat us as if they were 'in charge', only fostered the environment that this was my body, and our (husband and I) family and birth.  I would absolutely recommend Morning  Glory Childbirth Services to anyone!

The prenatal care I got from Christine was fantastic. She is incredibly knowledgeable and keeps up to date with the newest information. I never felt rushed during our appointments, and I always felt important as a whole person, not just as a pregnant woman. She answered all of my (many) questions without judgement and backed up her opinions with evidence. When I had to transfer to the hospital during pushing, she stayed with me in the ambulance and helped me breastfeed for the first time after my c-section. I'm glad that she knew when it was time to go to the hospital. It's proof that she won't put her ego and birth statistics before the safety of her clients and their babies. I feel so lucky to have such a great midwife. It is truly her calling.
