Switched from an OB to Morning Glory during my first pregnancy around 30 weeks. Christine is amazing! She really CARES. I wasn't even her client and she spent at least 30 minutes on the phone with me explaining everything I needed to know about Gestational diabetes, that my OB couldn't be bothered with. He just told "Go look it up on the internet." Had an amazing home water birth and will never go back. Just found out we're pregnant again and have already met with Christine for round 2. So excited. She is a very compassionate, knowledgeable and experienced mother and midwife. I consider myself blessed to be able to call her my friend I have had some pretty serious experiences with Christine and Morning Glory. I had a very nice fourth pregnancy with the help of Christine. Wonderful prenatals and nice conversations. Unfortunately, that pregnancy ended with a loss at 33 weeks gestation. At which time I had the joy of experiencing a dear friend and care provider being present to lean on during the hospital induction and birth of sweet baby boy born after he had died. She was amazingly compassionate and helpful, even in the months afterward, which only thrilled me all the more to be able to tell her when we were expecting our fifth baby! This time I got to experience Christine as a normal client. All the way through the live birth and post partum visits of our new baby boy. One of the things I admire most about Christine is that she keeps an open mind and heart concerning all that her clients would like. Even if she would do something different, she doesn't judge even for a moment. She will bend over backward to give you the birth experience that you would like while providing a safe space and knowledgable caring for you. Homebirth midwifery at it's best and a special place in your heart for the rest of your life! I had 5 hospital births prior to my home birth. My experience with those and with Christine were like night and day. My prenatal appointments were longer and more personal. When I was having trouble sleeping she helped me find a solution, and when I went past my due date with a cross country move coming up she reassured me that the baby would come out! Being in the comfort of my own home and not made to lay on my back with a million things attached to me made a huge difference. This was my easiest birth yet, it was such a peaceful experience. After the birth I was able to immediately bond with my baby instead of her being taken away to be examined. My older children were able to wake up and come bond with their new sister without the stress of the hospital. I highly recommend Morning Glory Childbirth! Christine impressed me from our very first meeting. She is extremely knowledgeable and professional, but still made each prenatal visit feel like a visit with a friend. Christine is passionate about midwifery and empowering women. Knowing Christine was watching over the safety of me and my baby allowed me to relax and focus on giving birth. I trusted Christine with my birth and my baby and would recommend her to anyone. My husband and I are happier than words can convey with the team at Morning Glory Childbirth Services and the birth that they helped us have for our seventh baby. Christine and her assistants were a kind, supporting presence throughout my pregnancy. Each prenatal visit felt like a chat with friends, while at the same time her medical knowledge and the gentle way that she offered it when necessary was entirely reassuring - never invasive. Christine helped me with my sixth baby as well, two years before, when she was finishing her apprenticeship, and it is really neat to see how she has grown in her confidence and abilities as a midwife. Both births went extremely well. Christine is a master at helping you feel that it really is your birth. She is watching over you and baby, and you know that, but it is very easy to ignore her presence and focus on your labor if that is what you want to do. Conversely, she and her assistants are ready and available if at any time you feel you need their support and encouragement. If I were to have a long or difficult birth, I would be fully confident in Christine's ability to deal with problems as they arose, forseeing them whenever possible, and to bring our family to the best possible outcome in as much as anyone is humanly able. Since my daughter's birth in 2010, Christine has supported me through two miscarriages with loving comfort and advice, and we are now expecting another baby, with her assistance, of course. We wouldn't choose any other midwife. |
